The FTSG’s study day will feature an analytical roundtable on Balakirev’s First Symphony alongside workshops by the Keynote Speakers, Dr Anne Hyland and Professor William Caplin. The schedule is as follows:
- 9.30: Student Workshop with Anne Hyland, “Schubert’s Off-Tonic Recapitulatory Strategies: A Typological Exploration,” or Academic Workshop with William Caplin, “The influence of fantasy elements on some piano sonatas by Beethoven.”

- 11.30: Formal Dialogues VI featuring Julian Horton, Rajan Lal, Caitlin Martinkus, Sam Reenan, and Benedict Taylor.
